Frederick Douglass
Frederick Douglass is an important figure in history, because he was one of the slaves to escape slavery and become an abolitionist. He created books and autobiographies on his life during and after slavery. He began to preach and many were inspired. He traveled the world and was the only African-American to go to a women's rights convention. He believed in a fair society with no slavery and equal rights.
